    Cartoon characters never age

    tweety1942
Something really nice about cartoons is that the characters never age and we somehow don’t notice it . As if they are stuck in time or something like that ..
But lets assume they do .. can you imagine what would happen?
First of all the smurfs (1958) are all 51 ( they sing all the time no wonder they don’t age :) ) . Tom and Jerry ( 1940) and Tweety (1940) are in their 60s.  Others like donald duck ( born June 9, 1934) is now over 70 years ( ohh uncle donald is getting too old :P ) .

Micky mouse is even older than donald; his first appearance was in Plane Crazy in 1928 , so he is 81 years old !

The sailor man Popeye is 80 , first appeared in 1929 on Thimble Theatre comic strip.

    Some interesting facts :
Tweety was “PINK ” in his first appearance in” A Tale of Two Kitties ”
Smurfs started in comics magazines in 1958 , later in the 80s they were made in to television series.

Archie Comics is an American comic book known for its many series featuring the fictional teenagers Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Reggie Mantle and Forsythe “Jughead” Jones characters created by Bob Montana. All characters were based on people he knew in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Archie’s first appearance in Pep Comics #22 on December 22, 1941 was drawn by Montana and written by Vic Bloom. With the creation of Archie, publisher John L. Goldwater hoped to appeal to fans of the Andy Hardy movies starring Mickey Rooney.

    What is Manga?

Manga is the Japanese word for comics and print cartoons.
Outside of Japan, it usually refers specifically to Japanese comics.

    Greatest Comic-Reading Nation

Manga makes up 40 % of the printed material sold in Japan , with
13 weekly magazines, 10 biweeklies and around 20 monthlies! In the
1990s, Manga Sales averaged 600 billion yen yearly – around 60 % for
    magazines, the rest for paperbacks.

    Always be aware !!

Although Manga seams to be just drawn cartoons some of them May
contain bloody violence, bad language, nudity ,drugs, and extreme
graphic violence. So always check the Age rating and Genres.
